What is pollution?  

Pollution is contamination by a chemical/other agent, that changes the environment in an undesired way. Pollution affects the Earth's land, water, and air. This results in contamination of the environment that have to do with human health, the quality of life, and the function of ecosystems. Most of the time pollution is caused by human actions such as garbage people throw onto the ground, oceans, lakes, and rivers. Such pollution can result in natural disasters such as hurricanes and flooding.

Types of pollution:

• Water pollution caused by contaminating bodies of water.
• Air pollution caused by cars, factories, etc. Anything that releases fumes/smoke.
• Photochemical air pollution is commonly referred to as "smog."
• Radioactive pollution caused by unsafe nuclear activity.
